A Lifetime of Contemplative and Healing Arts

Lara Harsh, LMT 7173, E-RYT-500, the owner and creatrix behind Imaginal Healing Arts, is a lifelong practitioner of meditation, yoga, and other mindfulness practices.
After obtaining her BA from Occidental College in Critical Theory and Social Justice, Lara went on to study Massage and Intuitive Healing Presence at the Santa Fe School of Massage, where she graduated in 2011. Her bodywork style is deeply intuitive, effective, and nurturing.
During college, Lara attended a 200-hour Greenpath Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Society of San Francisco in 2009, after which she began formally teaching during college. She later completed her 500-hour training through Samadhi Center of Yoga in Denver, CO in 2017, which included in-depth trainings in Nidra, Yin, and Restorative styles. Her classes blend poetic philosophical reflections with in-depth anatomical wisdom, sprinkled with a little humor.

After spending over a decade in service as executive director at Santa Fe Community Yoga Center, Santa Fe’s nonprofit yoga studio, Lara resigned in the summer of 2023, but continued on at SFCY in the capacity of senior yoga teacher. You can still find Lara’s classes and workshops on SFCY’s website.
Over the years, Lara’s work has expanded into the realms of ceremony creation, sound healing events, retreat facilitation, birth assistant / doula work, and custom poetics.
Lara lives with her husband and three bonus daughters in Santa Fe, NM, where she enjoys as much time in the great outdoors as possible. In addition to her family, she loves traditional Tibetan deity painting, singing and song writing, and learning endlessly. She is passionate about community, social justice, the expansion of human consciousness, and helping people slow down enough to notice miracles.
A note on the word Imaginal:
On their way to becoming a butterfly, the first thing a caterpillar must do inside a cocoon is dissolve their body. The caterpillar cells, floating in mush, devoid of order and purpose, begin to panic! Then, special cells called imaginal cells activate and start organizing them all into a new body: with wings!
If each of us has something inside of us that is the same, that instinctively knows what we, as our part of humanity, is evolving into. May we activate this knowing within ourselves and others. Imaginal Healing Arts is built with this goal in mind.
